In June 2002, Janet Sproles asked me to look at a litter of Foxfield Flash kids while I was at a trial in Washington. She wanted me to offer the breeder my opinion of them. All the pups were very nice, but one of the boys just jumped out at me. After 2 days of debate (did I really need another terrier?), I decided to bring Parker home. His breeder, Lynn Hawley, was happy that he was going to a show/breeding/working home, and I was delighted with my acquisition. Parker has not disappointed. He went to his first and only trial in 2002 as a 4 - 6 month pup and won his class. 2003 saw him develop into a lovely young male, with all the confidence and presence a good stud dog should have. In first show ring debut as an adult he was Best Open Terrier at the 2003 Alberta Trial. At the 2003 Romney Ontario Trial he won both his classes, and then two days later he went out to the field and entered to Groundhog, successfully working large Ontario woodchucks two days in a row - showing us determination, tenacity and grit. He also earned his NHC. In 2003 Parker was the JRTCC National Trial Working Terrier Conformation Champion. While that award was huge for Parkers resume, the wins didn't stop there. He came back to the Northwest and was WT Conformation Champion both days at the Ranier Hunt Fall Trial. In 2004 Parker was the Working Terrier Conformation Champion both days, under Terie Petrie & David Jones at the Colorado Rocky Mountain Trial. He was Reserve WT Champion at the Ontario Brocksett Trial, and took top honours again at the California Terrier Trial in Fall 2004. Parker has inherited his good bone, small chest and beautiful head from his father “Flash”, but you can also see alot of his mother Pebbles in him as well. He has gorgeous movement, a perfect topline and a nice length of neck. He is happy and outgoing with people and totally non-confrontational with other dogs. And now he is making his mark as a sire.....Parker's son Salishan Tantrum was Res. Best Open Dog at the Brocksett Trial and Reserve WT in California Fall 2004. It was a proud moment to have both father and son standing in the show ring together -- finishing Best & Reserve. Windriver Tuscan - owned by Marion Prystupa, was also a serious contender in the Conformation ring as a pup and finished his great season as Reserve Puppy Conformation Champion at the 2004 JRTCC National Trial. At the Rainier Hunt Trial 2005 Parker was Best Working Terrier. His son Salishan TBO, owned by Karl & Jenny Braun, was Best 4 - 6 month puppy, his daughter Salishan Tart was Reserve Best Open Bitch, her full sister Salishan Delta was Puppy Conformation Champion & Racing Champion, and Parkers son Romney Meiko, owned by Susie and Bob Mullins, was Best Open Terrier. Wheatland Trial 2006 and Parker was the sire of Best 4 - 6 month Puppy Salishan ZigZag,Best Open Bitch wasTart and Puppy Conformation Champion was Salishan Yukon. Oh - and Parker was Reserve Best Working Terrier. Clearly he is proving to be a dominant sire and we expect his offspring will continue to do well. Parker stands at stud to approved bitches.
